THE NATIONAL YOUTH COUNCIL OF NIGERIA UGWUNAGBO BRANCH HELD HER COMMUNITY YOUTH PRESIDENT AND EXECUTIVE SECURITY SUMMIT TODAY

State Chairman National Youth Council of Nigeria, Engr Smith O. Sylvanus in magnanimous plans in sorting solutions to insecurities in company of his zonal chairman Abia south, Comrd Arthur Ugbuaja, State Treasurer, Comrd Bobby levi, state Auditor Miss Irene Ugwuala, Legal adviser, Bar Akoma David and other state executive council members were received by the Executive Chairman Ugwunagbo Rt Hon Joy Nnata and had a briefing with her on a courtesy call detailing the reasons of visiting Ugwunagbo local government and the chairman wished him a happy stay in the local government and wisdom during the summit and later joined the state chairman NYCN to the summit.

Engr Smith during the summit/interactive session disclosed that the community Youth Leadership have shown commitment to collaborate with relevant agencies and government in Addressing insecurity in our communities of which there is no other time than now. We must be allowed to contribute our quota to maintain Abia the most peaceful and business friendly state in Nigeria,

He further thanked the youthful Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu PhD for this opportunity given to the youth and further stated that the idea to meet with community youth president, vice President, Secretary, Public relation officers in every Community is to ascertain the Root cause of insecurities in our rural communities and by so doing there is serious needs for regular interface between the critical stakeholders, the community Youth Leaders if we are ready to address issues of insecurity.

There is also need for all the community Youth presidents to walk in synergy among themselves and with the head’s of security Agencies, local government Authorities for a better coalition.

That has been our message and we are ready to play our part for the growth and development of our society he added’. We can no longer be a bench warmer Youth Leaders because we need to be very proactive in our different Communities which will cause relevant agencies to respond adequately.

The state chairman advised the Youths Leaders to get engaged with a skill, Imbibe the culture of Self development and create out opportunities that will create testimonies for the future generations. Further in his advise stated that the Youth Leaders to assume responsibilities as the Second in command in securing their Communities and to avoid creating opportunities where bad eggs among them will create bad image for their communities which causes doubts on personal integrity of the citizens of that Community.

He charges them with the responsibilities to secure the communities, form village vigilant groups, secure government owned amenities both for benefit of their communities and report any suspicious movement to the appropriate security Agencies. Create alert systems networks that will check the activities and movement of unknown persons in the Communities among yourselves and equally have an exchange of information and contact among the Youth Leaders and head’s of securities Agencies.

The State chairman also advised the community Youth presidents to encourage full participation of votes registration now as INEC Registration exercises is ongoing and make sure that the go about their normal business everyday and remove the fears of harrasment by any body or groups of people .

In the good wishes and remarks of the Executive Chairman Ugwunagbo LGA Rt.Hon Joy Nnata, who warmly received the NYCN State Chairman and his executive expressed gladness over the full participation of Abia youths ably led and also at the local government charging them to remain focused in their positive quest and yearnings and further promised to give them every necessary support.

Apostle Gospel Okwuchi the Ugwunagbo branch of NYCN thanked the Executive Chairman and his boss the state chairman for making sure that the summit was a success promising to work with the Youth Leaders to ensure sustainable development and security of their communities.

Finally, He advised them to see securities officers as partners in progress and work with them but also report any form of intimidation and harassment, extortions to their superiors.

24 Autonomous Communities Youth president and executives, The Deputy chairman, Hon Moses Azubuike, the Secretary to the local government Barr David Amaku, The Leader of the Legislative Conucil, Hon Ndudirim and the Councilors, The head’s of security Agencies, the Army 144 battalion Asa, The DPO, Civil defense a council at the local g, out were present during the event.
