The Commissioner of Police in charge of Abia State command, CP Kenechukwu Onwuemelie has assured the people of the state of the readiness of the command to provide adequate security as Muslim ummah marks Eid-el-Kabir.

In a statement on Tuesday signed by the PRO of the command, ASP Mureen Chioma Chinaka made available to ABN TV, the police boss gave this assurance after an intensive meeting with all Area Commanders and Divisional Police officers (DPOs) in the state. He tasked them to ensure adequate security coverage and a peaceful celebration of Eid-el-Kabir in the State.

CP Onwuemelie also deployed additional patrol teams to all nooks and crannies of the State to ensure maximum security before, during, and after the celebration, the release added.
