Abia Online Media Practitioners: Call for Unconditional Release of Comrade Nwankwo

The Abia Online Media Practitioners of Abia State, an umbrella body of OMPAN, has criticised the gestapo arrest of its Chairman, Comrade Ugochukwu Nwankwo by the Abia State Police Command.

Comrade Ugochukwu Nwankwo was arrested by men of the Nigerian Police on Tuesday around his office at Item Street Umuahia.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Secretary of Abia Online Media Practitioners, Izuchukwu Nwokoma, the Organization questioned why the Abia Police Command will unleash its men on law abiding citizens, adding that its Chairman is a responsible Abian cum Nigerian who has sued for peace in the country.

In the Statement, Abia Online Media Practitioners decried the rate at which law abiding citizens are arrested almost on daily basis, without cogent reasons, calling on the Inspector General of Police, Police Commissioner, Abia State to ensure that her Chairman is released unconditionally.
