The State Chairman National Youth Council of Nigeria Engr Smith O. Sylvanus has today, On Behalf of the Leadership of the council and entire youths of Abia state Congratulates Dr Alex Otti on his emergence as the Governor Elect of Abia State in the just concluded governorship elections held on Saturday 18th March 2023 under the platform of the Labour Party.

Your victory is a victory for all Abians irrespective of political affiliation. Your victory shows the hand of Almighty God on you and our dear state. Your emergence is a major pointer that politics today is tilting towards meritocracy and not god-fatherism, and the new order of Young people movement.

You contested with well qualified Abians who also has the interest of Our State at heart. Please be magnanimous in victory

Your campaign slogan of Rebuilding Abia encapsulates the yearnings of the people,and Abia Youths expects that you will hit the ground running as you face this daunting task. The task ahead is enormous, you can maximize the opportunities of this goodwill you enjoyed in victory to make Abians proud.

While assuring the incoming government of our unflinching support, we urge you the Governor -elect, in the spirit of sportsmanship, and avowed acceptance of dissent choices, to work closely with other co-contestants in a bid to run an all-inclusive government and reunite our state”.

Trust and confidence has been bestowed upon you and we are confident that with all the experience You have gathered. We expects Youths development, capacity building trainings, well equipped skills acquisition and Youth development centres, Re-introduction of machnized agriculture to encourage Abia Youths in Agriculture, your support for entrepreneurship and sMEs development will encourage small scale business and improve our economic growth, building a technology village and to achieve all these, maintaining peace and security, ensuring Youth Development. Our partnership and support will go along way to addressing issues of insecurity.
