African teams not showing enough character – Ex- Eagles forward, Ijeh

Former Super Eagles forward, Peter Ijeh is not happy with the performance of African teams at the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The five African representatives failed to record a win in their first group games in the competition.

The Terangha Lions of Senegal made amend with a 3-1 thumping of hosts Qatar on Friday.

Aliou Cisse’a side will need to beat Ecuador in their last group game to seal a place in the last 16.

Tunisia however face elimination from the competition after they lost 1-0 to the Socceroos of Australia on Saturday afternoon.

Tunisia are bottom of Group D with one point from two games.

Ijeh believes the African teams have not done enough at the competition.

The African teams have not shown enough character as much as we used to see in the past, it is unfortunate,” Ijeh told The Telegraph.

Morocco will be in action against Belgium on Sunday.
