PDP directs interested caretaker committee members to Resign

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has on Friday directed any member of the caretaker committee, at any level, who is interested in contesting for any position in Anambra State during the congresses to resign such positions immediately.

Hon. Umar M. Bature, National Organizing Secretary of the party in a statement said the notice of resignation was to ensure a level playing field for all contestants.

According to the statement, for purposes of verification, all resignation letters are to be directed to the office of the National Organizing Secretary. Failure by such aspirants to adhere to the resignation directives renders his or her contest invalid.

According to him, the party urged all critical stakeholders and aspirants to various positions and members of the party in the state to remain focused and united in the overall effort “to rescue and rebuild our nation from misrule.”
