A Divisional Police Officer, DPO, in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State ‎has been abducted by suspected bandits terrorizing the area.

Report has it that the incident occurred early hours on Monday when the criminal elements operated in the area along Kaduna-Birnin Gwari highway.

The DPO, who was recently posted to the area, was reportedly on his way to Birnin Gwari to report at his duty post‎ when he was abducted.

Mohammed Jalinge, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the state command, said he would inquire and revert.

This is coming barely four days after bandits abducted a DPO in Nasarawa State and demanded N5 million ransom.
