Messi, Lewandowski – Winner of award Revealed

The best player in the world will be unveiled today.

The Ballon d’Or event makes a return following an enforced COVID-19 break last year.

Bayern Munich striker, Robert Lewandowski would have easily walked away with the prize last year after a sensational season.

The Poland international is expected to be on the podium when the winners are announced on Monday.

But we all know who walks away with the prize, don’t we?

Lionel Messi.

The 34-year-old who now plays his football with Paris Saint-Germain is the hot favourite to clinch it. If he is indeed confirmed as winner, the Argentina captain would have won it for a record-extending seventh time.

Who could be the surprise winner?

Lewandowski.

A ‘leaked’ image of the apparent final standings went viral on social media late in October, with Messi in second place.

If this is the case, there might not be much outrage as it will be just a reward for him missing out in 2020.

Lewandowski is having another fine season anyway.

Hold your breath. Cross your fingers. Show time in a bit!
