The chairman, Bichi Local Government Area of Kano State, Prof. Yusuf Muhammad Sabo has been suspended for three months by the Kano Council councillors.
Muhammad Tinki, the leader of the Council, alleged that the Local Government Area Chairman had not been able to discharge his constitutional duties.
He explained that the suspension of the Chairman followed a unanimous decision taken by the councillors after due deliberations in a recent meeting.
He stated, “Now, he will serve the suspension and the committee constituted to investigate the matter will submit its report and make recommendations in due course.”
The suspended Chairman, when contacted for his reaction, did not respond.
A text message to him was not responded to as of the time of filing this report.
