Buhari to meet Security Chiefs Thursday

President Muhammadu Buhari will on Thursday confer with security chiefs at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

This was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina.

DAILY POST recalls that the President returned to Abuja last Friday after spending over two weeks in London, where he attended an education summit and health checkup.

According to Adesina, “the security forces have in the past few weeks taken the battle more robustly to insurgents, bandits, and all other criminals troubling the country, and they are now surrendering in droves.

The President will be brought up to speed on developments at the Thursday meeting, while plans to bring a decisive end to the challenges will be formulated”.

DAILY POST reports that several parts of the country have recently witnessed criminal activities as unknown gunmen, bandits and other elements continue the killing and abduction of unsuspecting citizens.

A few days ago, gunmen suspected to be bandits attacked four communities in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, killing 68 people, setting 63 houses ablaze, while 68 hectares of farmland were destroyed by the assailants.

The state also witnessed a massacre on Saturday when criminal elements attacked travelers and killed scores.

Gunmen on Sunday night attacked the College of Agriculture and Animal Science, Bakura in Zamfara State, killing at least three persons while over sixteen students were kidnapped.

Recall that unknown gunmen also attacked some workers of Lee Engineering Company at the Assa community in the Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State on Monday, killing at least four persons.
