Chelsea is in talks with Newcastle over a loan deal for Timo Werner, the UK Mirror reports.
The 26-year-old will be allowed to leave Stamford Bridge temporarily like Romelu Lukaku.
Werner is desperate to prove himself in the Premier League, which has given Newcastle hope that they could get him on loan.
It is believed Chelsea will insist on a clause that the deal will be made permanent at the end of the season.
Werner’s former club, RB Leipzig, has also expressed a willingness to bring him back to the Bundesliga.
However, neither Newcastle nor RB Leipzig is willing to match Werner’s wages, which are around £270,000 per week.
So he would either have to take a big cut or persuade Chelsea to keep paying a large chunk.
