Abia — Chief Chukwunma Nnochiri, an Abia Central Senate aspirant, has applauded the leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for their commitment and foresight in convening a crucial party meeting aimed at strengthening internal unity and advancing the party’s vision for Nigerians.
Speaking to CDA News after the gathering, Chief Nnochiri described the meeting as a “step in the right direction” and urged stakeholders to continue fostering dialogue, inclusiveness, and strategic planning. According to him, such efforts remain vital for the growth of the ADC and the consolidation of democracy in Nigeria.
He commended the resolutions of the ADC National Working Committee (NWC) and caucus, highlighting the following outcomes:
All members were directed to resign from any other political parties.
The caucus ruled out adopting the All Democratic Alliance (ADA) as a coalition vehicle.
All presidential aspirants agreed to support whoever emerges as the party’s flag bearer.
No specific timeline was set for when members must resign from other political affiliations.
The NWC will soon announce dates for primaries in Osun and Ekiti ahead of off-cycle governorship elections.
The high-level meeting was attended by top political figures including ADC National Chairman, David Mark, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Kaduna State Governor Nasir el-Rufai, former Rivers State Governor Chibuike Amaechi, and former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal, among others.
Chief Nnochiri praised the collective resolve of the leaders and urged members across the country to remain united, stressing that only through unity could the ADC position itself as a formidable alternative in Nigeria’s political landscape.
