The State Chapter of the PDP has called on the Member Representing Ikwuano, Umuahia North and South Federal Constituency- Chief Sam Onuigbo to emulate the recent wise decision of one of the former foundation leaders of the APC in Abia State- Barr. Ugochukwu Ukeogu and his numerous supporters by rejoining the PDP to guarantee success of his future political ambition.
 
The State Publicity Secretary of the PDP –Chief Fabian Nwankwo made the call in Umuahia while refuting an alleged claim in some media houses that Chief Sam Onuigbo was denied the opportunity to produce his PDP ward Executive members in the 2020 congress of the party in Ikwuano Local Government of Abia State by the National Organizing Secretary of the PDP-Col. Austin Akobundu (Rtd).

Chief Nwankwo maintained that against the wish of other PDP leaders from the same Ibere Ward II with the Federal Lawmaker, Chief Sam Onuigbo was allowed to single-handedly produce 100% list of his PDP Ward Executive but was refrained by the constitution of the PDP from repeating the same process alone in the Ikwuano Local Government Congress of the party in which he challenged the outcome of the LG congress in court but lost the court verdict that he did not appeal against the judgment before he hurriedly defected to the APC.

Chief Nwankwo therefore advised the Federal Lawmaker to put the record straight by telling the truth of how the 2020 ward and LG congresses were conducted in Ikwuano in order to avoid his continuous misinforming the public including the Governor of Rivers State-Nyesom Wike into erroneous thinking that Chief Sam Onigbo was not given fair treatment by Col. Austin Akobundu and the party in the congresses whereas the actual fact emanated from Chief Sam Onuigbo’s over ambitious move to start the process of actualizing his third term bid in office contrary to the provisions of the constitution of the PDP.

He further advised Chief Sam Onuigbo to nevertheless, soft paddle by returning to the PDP fold like his brother Barr. Ugochukwu Ukeogu and his supporters for amicable settlement of the vexed issue to enable him  join hands in supporting the progressive administration of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and robust internal democracy being enjoyed in the State Chapter of the PDP under the Chairmanship of Rt. (Hon) Alwell Asiforo Okere (Ph.D).
