A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Minister of Defense, Colonel Austin Akobundu Ltd. has formally declared his intention to seek the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party to contest the 2023 Senatorial Election to represent Abia Central in the Senate at the party zonal office yesterday.
Speaking at the zonal party office yesterday, Colonel Akobundu stated that he is the most competent and most prepared of all the aspirants seeking to clinch the Senatorial ticket of the Party in the forthcoming elections.
He highlighted his career, achievement, and contribution to the development of the party and the general society.
in his speech to the party, I have successfully served the PDP faithfully for years and recorded success that has remained unmatched.
I am a core party faithful and loyalist.
This declaration of mine was borne out of deep observations, deliberately and wide consultations.”
This is the first time am seeking an elective office and I am, thus, of the firm belief, that when elected the Senator to represent Abia Central, there shall be quality and effective representation also implementation of the overall national development plans, Youth and women inclusiveness and empowerment, people-oriented bills, focus on infrastructure and institution developments our senatorial district.
The former PDP National Organizing Secretary said he is experienced in the plights of the people of his senatorial district and that such will propel him to make bills that will promote their welfare and put an end to some of the lingering challenges confronting them.
He added that constant consultations with his Constituency to feel their pulses as regards their needs will always be his watchword.
In response, the Zonal Vice-Chairman Hon. Chukwudi Ezebuiro of the People’s Democratic Party Abia Central thanked him for coming to see the zone and demanding their support for the quest to replace the outgoing senator from our great party.
He said the zonal is made up of the Old Bende and the Ngwa block.
He has proven his readiness to partner with the party at the zonal level. Ezequiel assures that they shall work together to make his aspiration reality of Success.
The Zonal party woman leader Mrs.Gloria Agomoh applauded prayed for Akobundu and speak the mind of the party women in the zone that they are ready and shall cast their votes for him because he is the most qualified among others.
