You came, You saw and You conquered at Abia State Polytechnic, Aba.

You broke the jinx of the dearth of Convocation in Abia State Polytechnic that has lingered for many years. Within a month of your assumption of office as substantive Rector, you held a combined Convocation of graduands from over 12 years.

You issued real certificates to graduates of the institution that have only “To Whom it may concern” as their proof of obtaining a Higher National Diploma or Ordinary National diploma from the institution over 12 years ago.

You promoted staff who were due for promotion but have stagnated in one position for years.

You were almost at the final stages of agreeing on Abia State Polytechnic, Schools for creche, Nursery, and primary and secondary schools with a private investor.

*Processes for the revival of Abia State Polytechnic confectionery are ongoing for the production of Abiapoly bread and other products for extra income generation.

*Discussions for the production of Abiapoly table water and other sources of internally generated revenue were in top gear.

*You successfully established the Abia State Polytechnic business school, Aba. The online study portal is currently under construction.

*You instructed contractors to use manpower within the school for any job that the institution can produce with the contractor’s specifications.

*You were pushing for the conversion of Abia State Polytechnic, Aba to the University of Aba. You led your team to the public hearing at the Abia State House of Assembly. You believed that such a University within Aba metropolis will offer many programs to Aba that a Polytechnic couldn’t.

*You were never an armchair Rector, who will wait for the government or just burden students with incessant increments in fees. You believe in expanding sources of revenue to shore up the institution’s IGR.

*You are a goldfish, and as a golden fish, you have no hiding place.

*You have left your mark as Rector of Abiapoly for about 2 months, which should be admired but the politics of Abia State is played with vendetta. They are afraid that a star like you will outshine their unprepared government.

*You practically brought back life and Hope to the institution that has been exposed to years of rot, unnecessary political interference, and demarketing.

*The question on everyone’s lips is “What does Otti want”. Abians thought that he was coming with a mindset to build Abia by correcting what his predecessors didn’t do well, bringing his idea, and continuing with those that are generally acknowledged to be doing excellently well.

*But, he has shown himself like any other politician who has his “people” to settle rather than encourage hard work.

Like I have admonished. When revenge and vendetta are the order of the day, what you have won may be lost. Revenge is of the Lord.
