Ebubeagu commander shot dead in Ebonyi

A commander of Ebubeagu security outfit, Mr. Magnus Iganda has been reportedly killed in Ezza North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

Cdanewsonline gathered that gunmen yet-to-be identified, invaded his house on Wednesday morning and shot him dead.

The Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ezza North Local Government Area, Mr. Emeka Nwonu, who is also a resident of the area, confirmed the incident in a statement on Thursday.

He described the Ebubeagu commander’s killing as shocking and barbaric, calling on security agencies in the State to fish out his killers.

He said: ”The All Progressives Congress, APC Ezza North Local Government Area has received with shock, the sad news of the gruesome murder of the Commander of Ebubeagu Security Outfit, Ezza North Local Government Area, Mr Magnus Iganga, by yet-to-be identified gunmen in the early hours of today.

The news about his killing is shocking, and we wonder why some individuals take delight in the termination of lives of fellow humans instead of being the keepers of those fellows as instructed by the scriptures to be our brothers’ keepers.”

When contacted by Cdanewsonline, the State’s Police Public Relations Officer, Loveth Odah confirmed that there was violence in the Local Government on Wednesday.

She, however, said she was yet to get details of what occurred in the area, promising to get back to our correspondent with details.
