The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, has said the state must not be allowed to return to the era of godfatherism.

He said he would not be deterred by the gang-up and intimidation currently being carried out against him and his supporters in his March to victory.

Shaibu said this soon after submitting his governorship expression of interest and nomination forms at the National Headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Abuja, on Thursday.

He explained that he already has a road map on how to make Edo State work for the people.

Shaibu noted that the state needs his experience and expertise to turn things around for the better.
