Emergency Rule: I spoke to Fubara – Wike confirms Fubara’s return to Rivers Politics

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has confirmed Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s readiness to return to Rivers State following the suspension of the six-month emergency rule.

In March, President Bola Tinubu suspended Fubara, his deputy, Mrs. Ngozi Odu, and the state House of Assembly after a prolonged political crisis between the governor and his predecessor.

Fubara was outside the country when President Tinubu lifted the emergency rule on Wednesday.

Speaking in an interview on Channels Television on Thursday, Wike disclosed that he had spoken with Fubara and that the governor was prepared to return home to resume office.
