Barr. Ifeanyi Ararume Jnr, has lost the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ticket for Okigwe North Senatorial District ahead of the 2023 general election.

Emmanuel Okewulonu defected Barr.Ifranyi Ararume Jrn and emerged winner of the PDP primaries for Imo North Senatorial election.

Okewulonu polled 132 votes while Ifeanyi Ararume, secured 61 votes

Speaking shortly after the exercise, Okewulonu described the primary held at Aladinma Shopping Mall, Owerri as transparent and peaceful.

Okewulonu said the victory was the beginning of a new dawn in Imo North, while expressing confidence of victory in the general election.

He appealed to Araraume, who was a former Commissioner for Commerce and Industry during the Okorocha’s administration, to work with him so that the party would emerge victorious at the general elections.
