FMC Abeokuta’s resident doctors demand prudent management for Efficiency

The Association of Resident Doctors, Federal Medical Center (FMC), Abeokuta, Ogun State, has called for urgent accountability, civility, and good governance from the hospital management to enable them to perform their duties efficiently.

In a statement jointly signed by Dr. Adebiyi Oluwabusuyi and Dr. Ajibola Michael, President and General Secretary of the association respectively, on Wednesday, the association stated that the demand was nothing personal against the Managing Director of the Hospital, Prof. Adewale Musa-Olomu, as it was not interested in the politics of the center.

According to the statement, “We only demand good governance, accountability, civility and dignity in a conducive environment where we can carry out our life-saving functions without distraction and fear of molestation.”

The statement noted that the emergency congress of the association would hold on Thursday and then proceed to formally address a press conference on the outcome of the meeting, recalling that Prof. Musa-Olomu was reappointed as the Managing Director of the facility in September.
