The Bauchi State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) on Wednesday revealed that a total of 125 regular and special marshals would be deployed for President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to Bauchi on Thursday to ensure the free flow of traffic during the presidential visit.

The Corps’ Sector Commander, Yusuf Abdullahi, said the mobilised marshals and National Youths Service Scheme (NYSC) Road Safety Club members would be deployed in all the marked routes to avert congestion and gridlock during the visit.

Abdullahi said in addition to personnel being deployed, two heavy-duty tow trucks and three light-duty tow trucks would be stationed at strategic locations to immediately evacuate broken down vehicles, while four ambulances and 10 operational vehicles would be patrolling 36 junctions and interchanges.

He said the Command was ready to ensure a hitch-free presidential visit to the state.

Traffic activities have been put under check 48hrs before the visit.

While we wish the President a hitch-free visit, the motoring public should please accommodate our short notice and we are sincerely sorry for any inconveniences the closure of some of the routes might cause them,” Abdullahi said.
