Gov. Ikpeazu graces wedding ceremony of PDP chieftain’s daughter, stresses need to put God first

Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has stressed the need for married couples to put God first in order to achieve a blissful marriage and build a virile society.

Governor Ikpeazu was speaking at the wedding ceremony of the daughter of a PDP chieftain in Ikwuano, Chief Ugochukwu Ugbo, former Miss Debbie Chibuihe Ugochukwu and her heartthrob, Dr. Michael Onyekachi Okebugwu held recently at Christian Pentecostal Mission, Okota Branch Lagos.

The Governor, represented by the immediate past T. C Chairman of Ikwuano Local Government Area,
Deacon Stanley Ojigbo urged the newly wedded to seek God’s kingdom and His righteousness always and cast all their cares upon Him, assuring that He does not fail. Governor Ikpeazu, who also enjoined them not to see marriage as an institution to be endured but to be enjoyed, expressed hope that they would live together in peace and congratulated them on their wedding.

Earlier, in his sermon titled “The Purpose-driving Marriage”, Rev. Sunday Ugbo enjoined the couple to get God involved in their marriage so that they can succeed. The man of God who took his text from Jeremiah 29 : 11 said that the thought of God towards them is of good and not of evil, assuring that they will surely be successful in all including their marriage.

The Chairman of the occasion High Chief Anthony Eze advised the couple to be open to each other. He charged them to let love, peace, unity, respect for each other be seen in their home and by God’s grace their marriage will be heaven on earth.

Responding on behalf of his wife, Dr. Michael Onyekachi Okebugwu, thanked God for making their dreams a reality. He appreciated Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and other guests for coming to identify with them in their moment of joy and prayed God to bless them abundantly.

The couple who was joined by the host Pastor of the Church. Rev. Susan Daniels, exchanged marital vows, cut cake and had bridal dance, while the occasion attracted many dignitaries including the Ikwuano LGA Chairman, Chief Steve Mpamugo represented by Mr. Emeka Ezekiel.
