Gov. Ikpeazu Inaugurates 24 man Transition Committee members

In an effort geared towards ensuring a smooth/seamless transition to a new administration on May 29, 2023, the Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has inaugurated a 24-man Transition Committee members, which he had earlier approved.

Speaking while inaugurating the Transition Committee Members at the Government House, Umuahia, Dr. Ikpeazu represented by his Deputy, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu mandated them to ensure massive mobilization and participation of leaders in the transition process as well as carry out dutifully any other directives that will be given out by the present administration.

He pointed out that, having successfully done eight years in service to Abians, Govt deemed it necessary to constitute the Transition Committee that will enable the incoming administration to capture activities of Govt without hitches and in a very convivial atmosphere and urged the members not to hesitate in carrying out any other directives and bring to Govt’s notice their findings.

Gov. Ikpeazu further tasked them to produce a detailed and well-articulated handover note that will ensure a seamless transition to the next administration.

Responding on behalf of other members of the Committee, the Chairman and SSG, Mr. Chris Ezem pledged that, having been painstakingly chosen, they will work assiduously and bring their experiences in Govt to ensure a very seamless transition come 29th May 2023 everyone will be proud of.

Members of the Committee are the Commissioners for Works, Information, Homeland Security, Public Utilities, Health, Trade, and Investment, Documentation, and Strategy, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, and the Accountant Gen of the State.

Others include the Director of Protocol, the Head Of Service, Chief Ekekwe John Egu, the Executive Secretary Planning Commission, Chief Chinedum Elechi, Sir GOC Kanu, Prof Udochukwu Ogbonna, Pastor Dike Nwankwo, Prof Ijeoma Kanu, Mrs. Chinwe Kanu Uba, Chief Nkem Okoro, Rev Fr. Dr Christian Anokwuru and Mr Chinedu Ekeke.
