The former Executive Chairman, Ikwuano LGA, Hon. Barr. Stanley Ojigbo has expressed huge shock at the passing on of a Board Member of Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital and former Executive Chairman of Ikwuano, Hon. Barr. K. C Ugboaja describing it as a monumental loss to Nde Ikwuano and Abians at large.

Hon. Barr. Ojigbo, who was reacting to the news of the demise of one of the political icons in Ikwuano and Abia State, Hon. Barr. Kelvin Ugboaja described the deceased as a political strategist, a very good and committed patriot, whose contributions to the betterment of the society is unequal. In his words “KC’s death has put me in shambles. Just like in the Bible, after king David learnt of the death of Saul and his son Jonathan. How are the mighty fallen! The beauty of Ikwuano politics is gone. It is regrettably unfortunate!”

He recalled the times Hon. Barr. Ugboaja served as a two – term elected Council Chairman and Commissioner for Works in Abia State as well as his last appointment as a Board Member of a federal teaching hospital and said his records and achievements including facilitation of employment opportunities for Ikwuano and Abians in general is immeasurable.

Hon. Barr. Ojigbo regretted that Nde Ikwuano and Abians at large have lost a rare gem. According to him, Hon. Barr. K. C Ugboaja would be remembered for his love for the people, kind-heartedness, generosity and as a man who understands politics as a game of interest played without bitterness and hatred. He said the loss is really a personal one to him as Hon. Barr. Ugboaja was his dear friend and political twin-brother, whose party differences could not extricate, as he valued relationships beyond politics.

Hon. Barr. Ojigbo enjoined the immediate family of his bossom friend, Abians and Nigerians in general to bear the loss with fortitude, while asking God to grant everyone the heart to endure the irreparable loss.
