The Secretary General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Ecclesiastical Affairs interacted with CDA News through the mail Offer by Induan Government to support our security.
We are very grateful for the international cooperation and settings the space -NSCEA
The Nigerian Supreme Council for Ecclesiastical Affairs (NSCEA) has reacted gladly to the recent news that India offers to help Nigeria fight insecurity.” Bishop Prof. Funmilayo Adesanya-Davies, Secretary, Elders’ Council, NSCEA states that “This is a welcome development.
We believe this could be achieved through artificial intelligence, fintech, and scientific intelligence,” adding, “We would enjoin other nations of the world to similarly follow suit, to curb the disturbing spate of insecurity in our nation, Nigeria as a matter of urgency.”
In a News report on 16th August 2022 by several newspaper reporters, “The Indian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Shri Balasubramanian, on Monday, pledged his country’s readiness to provide the needed support to end insecurity in Nigeria.
This is as he promised to further deepen the India-Nigeria relations and economic ties with social investments in solar energy, artificial intelligence, fintech, and scientific intelligence.
He stated this while speaking with journalists at the flag hoisting to mark the 75th independence of India which was held at the High Commission of India in Abuja.
He said, As you know, much of the defense training has been given in India; various security outfits have been trained in military installations and training institutes.
So, we will be happy to continue the partnership in cooperation with the Nigerian government, and we are ready to assist in that direction.”
He also commended the relationship between the two countries, describing it as one of the best.
The India-Nigeria relationship is one of the best. We started our relationship even before Nigeria’s independence in 1958 when we had established our office in Lagos. Since then, our relationship has developed; we have partnered in human capacity development, we are very happy that with the cooperation of the Nigerian government, we can now say that our relationship is strong and very cordial,” he said.
The recently appointed commissioner noted that although India had invested $14.9m in the country, he is looking forward to strengthening its relationship with Nigeria in all areas.
Whether it is training or trade, economic relations, political relations, I am looking forward to improving bilateral ties in all these areas,” he added.
We would recall similar news in a news report of Vanguard, by Chris Ochayion on September 3, 2019, titled: “Israel to help Nigeria fight insecurity.”
The Israeli authorities had announced that “It will partner with the Federal Government to address numerous insecurity challenges currently confronting the country, especially to end the Boko Haram insurgence in the North East zone.
The President, of Galilee International Management Institute, Professor Joseph Yossie Shavel, disclosed the Institute was drawing up a proposition to provide a framework towards engaging the Boko Haram insurgence with dialogue.”
NSCEA says thank you to India and Israel in advance. We are very grateful for your international cooperation and for your setting up the space.
In a similar report, President Muhammadu Buhari in a news report on 27 April 2021 asked the U.S. to support Nigeria / Africa’s efforts in tackling growing insecurity in the region.
Washington should consider relocating the headquarters of the U.S. Africa Command to the continent from Stuttgart, Germany, to better support the fight against rising insecurity, Buhari said in the first virtual meeting with Secretary of State Antony Blinken. The U.S. set up Africom to help countries in the region tackle transnational threats.
It’s because “The security challenges in Nigeria remain of great concern to us,” Buhari said, according to an emailed statement. Insecurity in the nation has been made worse by “existing complex negative pressures in the Sahel, Central, and West Africa, as well as the Lake Chad region,” he added.
