It is important to clarify that the Supreme Court does not grant a “Stay.

Additionally, a proper appeal has not yet been filed at the Supreme Court to challenge the judgments of both the Trial and Appeal Courts.

What has been filed so far is merely a Notice of Appeal at the Court of Appeal. This step allows the appellants to gather the complete records from the Federal High Court and the Court of Appeal.

Once these records are compiled, they will formally approach the Supreme Court to submit the Records of Appeal along with their briefs or affidavits.

At that point, the defendants will also submit their counter-briefs or affidavits, and only then will the Supreme Court set a date for hearing.

For now, it is important to remain calm as the process unfolds.

Regarding the case between Victor Oko and Rt. Hon. Martin Amaewhule, it is true that the Governor has officially appealed the judgment of the Court of Appeal at the Supreme Court. However, the Governor, as the appellant, is yet to submit his briefs or affidavit, which is required before the defendants can file their response. As a result, the Supreme Court has not yet scheduled a hearing date.

Keep in mind that they have a 90-day deadline, and the clock is already ticking.

This is the current situation, and any other information circulating online should be treated as mere rumor.
