Late Alaafin of Oyo, a moving library of Yoruba History – Tunde Badmus

The late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi has been described as a great intellectual.

The Asiwaju Musulumi Of Yorubaland, Dr Khamis Olatunde-Badmus stated this in Oyo in an interview with newsmen at the 8th Day Inter-Religious Prayer held in honour of the late monarch.

He said with his exit, understanding of Yoruba History and culture will be eternally missed.

Dr Tunde- Badmus, who described Oba Adeyemi as his mentor of over 45 years, said the iconic royal father was versatile, visionary and cerebral.

The Muslim leader added that Oba Adeyemi’s love for Yorubaland is worthy of emulation by all yoruba people.

He remarked that the late monarch never discriminated against anyone irrespective of race, religion or creed but rather based his impression on sound judgement.

He added that with his achievements, Oba Adeyemi had immortalised himself, stressing that he would remain on the positive side of history

Former Lagos State Governor and Presidential Aspirant, Senator Bola Tinubu and many other dignitaries attended the event.
