Liverpool Signs Darwin Nunez From Benfica,As Marcelo Departs Real Madrid

According to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Nunez has signed a six-year contract with Liverpool that will see him remain at Anfield until 2028.

Romano disclosed this in a tweet via his Twitter handle on Sunday.

He said the 22-year-old would complete his medical in England on Monday in Liverpool.

Romano tweeted: “Here we go confirmed for Darwin Núñez > Liverpool deal.

Deal done yesterday, meeting in Portugal. Darwin now in Spain.

Medicals tomorrow in England. Contract until 2028, six year deal. Liverpool will pay €80m fee plus €20m add ons. Never been in doubt.

In the meantime, Real Madrid on Sunday confirmed defender Marcelo’s departure from the club.

In a statement via its website, Real Madrid confirmed that the LaLiga champions would bid farewell to the Brazilian on Monday.

The statement read, ”Real Madrid C. F. would like to announce that tomorrow, Monday 13 June, at 1 pm (CET), there will be an institutional farewell and tribute ceremony for our captain Marcelo at Real Madrid City, which will be presided over by club president Florentino Pérez.

After this event, Marcelo will address the media in the press room at Real Madrid City.
