Ovie Omo-Agege. The tribunal presided over by Justice A.C. Ahuchaogu dismissed Omo-Agege’s petition for lack of merit.

Sule, who was elected on the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, platform in the last election, was sacked alongside Danjuma Azi, a member representing Jos North-West constituency in the assembly.

3. Former President Goodluck Jonathan has said that the current spate of coups across the African continent shows that democracy needs to be ”rejigged” and put in a proper direction. Jonathan made this known during a Democracy Dialogue 2023 organized by the Goodluck Jonathan Foundation (GJF) with the theme: “Breaking New Grounds In The Democracy Development Nexus in Africa” in Yenagoa.

4. A Federal High Court in Kano on Friday ordered the Kano State Government to pay the Incorporated Trustees of Eid Grand Shop Owners the sum of N30 billion as compensation for the unlawful demolition of their properties. The judge, Samuel Amobeda, who gave the order, said the action of the Kano State Government against the applicants was barbaric and unconstitutional.

5. The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Maj.-Gen. Christopher Musa has said that the military will flush out bandits and terrorists from the country. The CDS made the commitment on Friday in Kaduna when he paid a courtesy visit to Governor Uba Sani at the government house.

Bankole spoke on Friday shortly after he was unveiled by the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, as the Apena of Egbaland at the Ake Palace, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

7. The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has charged the All Progressives Congress, APC, to come clean on the desperation of its lawyers in the United States to conceal certain vital details regarding the academic records of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Chicago State University (CSU) from the public. The opposition said this in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, on Friday.

8. The decision of the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, to sack the Abuja Urban Mass Transport Company Managing Director, Najeed Abdulsalam, caused protests in Abuja. The staff of the company protested the sack of the agency’s MD on Friday.

9. Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, the Delta State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the last election says he plans to challenge the ruling of the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal which affirmed the election of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori. Omo-Agege said this in a statement he signed on Friday in Asaba.
