Manchester United forward, Cristiano Ronaldo is trying to block the release of witness statements in his Las Vegas rape case, because it could put people involved at “significant risk of harassment”, the UK Sun reports.

Ronaldo has vehemently denied raping Kathryn Mayorga at the Palms Hotel and Casino on 12 June, 2009.

The Portugal captain originally settled with his accuser, who accepted a payment of £276,000.

But Kathryn is now seeking a further £56million in damages.
