Michael Owen names four clubs to win trophy this season

Former Liverpool and Manchester United striker, Michael Owen has named four favorite clubs to win the UEFA Champions League this season.

Owen believes Bayern Munich or one of the Premier League giants, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City, will win the Champions League this season, adding that it is hard to look beyond them.

Recall that Chelsea won the Champions League last season.

Thomas Tuchel’s side defeated Manchester City 1-0 in the final to win the Europe top-flight competition.

It is hard to look beyond them [Liverpool, Chelsea and Man City]. It is Bayern [Munich] or an English team to win it [Champions League] for me,” Owen told BT Sport.

Reflecting on Liverpool’s impressive form in the Champions League so far this season, Owen continued: “It is phenomenal, 18 points out of 18 against clubs of that pedigree, they are still good teams. Milan are top of the table in Italy.

They are playing as well now as when they won the league, the thing is, there are two other unbelievable English teams. He will be buzzing [Jurgen] Klopp, the team is firing on all cylinders.”

Meanwhile, Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool and Bayern Munich have all booked their place in the Champions League round of 16.
