Moses Simon makes demand ahead of Nigeria’s round of 16 tie

Nigerian forward, Moses Simon, has urged his Super Eagles teammates to take things step-by-step ahead of their 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) round of 16 fixture.

Simon, who won the man of the match award in Nigeria’s 3-1 win over Sudan, disclosed this after Nigeria defeated Guinea-Bissau 2-0 in their Group D AFCON final tie on Wednesday night.

Recall that two goals from Umar Sadiq and William Troost-Ekong gave Super Eagles the victory against Guinea-Bissau.

Nigeria will face the third-placed team in Group E containing Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea, Sierra Leone and Algeria or one of Gambia, Mali, or Tunisia in Group F.

Speaking to reporters in the mixed zone after Nigeria defeated Guinea-Bissau, Simon said: “Actually we don’t have any pressure, we are a group that believes in ourselves, and I believe there is no pressure, we just need to take things step-by-step.

Actually, we don’t have any favourite team, we just believe any team that comes our way, we will do our best to win.”
