NANS PRESIDENT ASEFON SUNDAY WAKE UP DEMAND JUSTICE FROM FG & ASUU –COMR.FRANK ORJI

Comr.Frank Eme Orji Pioneer Secretary General of NANS Zone F ( South East Secretary-General) calling on the NANS President to wake up from Slumber and redeem the image of the Union.

I bring you solidarity greetings In the name of aluta Struggle and our quest for Students emancipation , coupled with our collective efforts geared towards the betterment of our Educational system in Nigeria.

Mr President Sir, while i commend you for all your dogged achievements and struggles in recent time that were geared towards Students emancipation across campuses in Nigeria, i also want you to know that I’m aware of your struggles towards the ASUU Strike but without mincing words, it will be completely out of place if those efforts weren’t productive and history will have it that the incessant ASUU Strike Prevailed during your watch as the NANS PRESIDENT.

Mr President Sir, it’s on record that the Zonal leadership of NANS Zone F ( south East ) has also shown commitment by agitating against the ASUU Strike on the street but there is a limit we can go. However, on the mandate of the zone and in my capacity as the Zonal secretary General, i led a delegation and engaged the Leadership of ASUU under Professor Emmanuel Osodeke , the National Chairman on 24th, june 2022 and solicit on behalf of Nigerian Students and to also acertain the feasibility of calling off the strike within the shortest period of time.

Mr President Sir , with the information we gathered , are you aware that the ongoing negotiation between the Academic Staff Union of Universities and Federal Government of Nigeria are being held at the convenience of the federal government and not on any form of pressure?

Let me respectfully remind you Mr President that it’s over four months now that Nigerian Students whom we vowed to protect their interest are staying at home and It’s quite ridiculous and unfortunate that under your watch as the President of NANS , the glory of the largest African students black movement is depreciating due to the incessant strike and there is no better time to reclaim it’s glory if not now.

Mr President Sir, let me also remind you that NANS is the apex body of students’ unionism in Nigeria, a non partisan Organization and a known pressure group from time immemorial , hence it shouldn’t be politicized especially in a sensitive time like this but it is quite unfortunate that your Excellency, the Revolutionary President of NANS has been seen a couple of times showing solidarity and publicly drumming support for the ruling political party in Nigeria amidst the Incessant ASUU Strike and including some of our current and key former NANS Leaders too. How then can our struggles for students emancipation across all campuses in Nigeria be effective and result oriented as expected when it’s obvious that our leaders are busy romancing and dinning with the same people with different names?

With due respect Mr President, it’s pertinent to note that you are the President of National Association of Nigerian Students ( NANS ) and not a president of any political party in Nigeria, hence the interest of Nigerian Students should be prioritized before any other interest and regardless of whose ox is gored.

I hereby kindly call on you Mr Revolutionary President of NANS to judiciously use the weight of your exalted office over the aforementioned issue by re-invoking the last C out of the 3C’s of NANS if considered necessary. However there should be a consistent engagement with the Federal Government of Nigeria and ASUU. All the Structures of our Organization and including our sister organization must be full incorporated to ensure that the needful is done.

My sincere apologies if my choice of words is considered abusive on your person and please kindly note that, it is directly from my office and doesn’t necessarily portray the position of the entire.
