Oboro Ward 2 LP Leader Rejects Imposition Of Nkemjika Eziokwu UBA As Councillorship Candidate, Seeks Gov Otti’s Intervention
A Labour Party Chieftaincy and Leader in Oboro Ward 2 Ikwuano LGA of Abia State ,High Chief Stanley Ohuegbe has express deep concerns over what he described as deliberate attempt to cause disenchantment among party faithful in the ward through an alleged imposition of one Mr. Nkemjika Eziokwu UBA as the councillorship candidate of Oboro Ward 2 even when he is still serving as the ward Party Chairman.
A visibly dismayed Oboro Ward 2 Labour Party leaders who hinted newsmen on the development lamented the alleged attempt by somebody who is serving as ward Chairman to lie with the name of the Governor in order to truncate equity , fairness and justice in the ward.
High Chief Stanley Ohuegbe from Amaba hinted that this issue began when a strange name , appeared as the councillorship candidate for Oboro Ward 2 of which the ward believes in rotation to share bases on the fact Amaba is having almost all the Party Key positions and Commissioner.
He said on enquiry, it was discovered that Nkemjika Uba the serving ward Chairman , the current councilor Chinedu Ibelegbu and both the past Commissioners are from the same Amaba therefore for equity sake Umudike community should be allowed to produce the Councilorship candidate.
High Chief Stanley Ohuegbe is calling on the Abia State Governor ,Dr.Alex Chioma Otti to come and rescue them from the calamity about to before our party based on Imposition of wrong candidate for our Councilorship position.
Calling on State Ag.Chairman of LP Abia State, not allow those he described as moneybags to cause problems in the party, and should stop dropping our Amiable Governor’s name to gain cheap popularity.
The candidates for the scheduled Abia local government elections we want remains Chibuzor Emmanuel Jacob form Umudike community.
He called on Governor Alex Otti to urgently intervene in the matter which he said, could cause discrimination and bitterness among LP.
High Chief Stanley Ohuegbe reminded those he alleged were dropping the governor’s name in order to stoke problem in Oboro Ward 2, that he remained a stakeholder in Labour Party and will always speak the truth.
He made it clear that his interest was to uphold the integrity of the party especially, at the grassroot level.
He also thanked the Current House of Assembly member representing Ikwuano,Hon.Boniface Isienyi whom the have also presented their petition base on that fact that the both communities rotate the Councilorship Position.
