Olubadan Urges Tinubu: Create Ibadan State Before 2027

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun, has renewed calls for the creation of Ibadan State. He appealed to President Bola Tinubu to make the demand a reality before the end of his first term in 2027.

According to the monarch, Ibadan deserves its own state because of its population, cultural heritage, and economic strength. He noted that the creation of Ibadan State would promote development and give the people a stronger voice in national affairs.

The call adds to long-standing demands from leaders and groups in Oyo State who believe Ibadan should stand as a state on its own.
