Orji Uzor Kalu Maintains No Network in Igbere, Abia North –

The Senate Chief Whip and Senator Representing Abia North Senatorial District Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has maintained that his community of Igbere and Abia North, in General,l,l,l,l, does not have an internet network for electronic transmission of results.

Kalu was among the Senators who voted against the transmission of results electronically during the passage of the electoral act by the senate.

Given more light on his stand, the Senator through his Media aide for southeast Mr. Maduka Okoro posited that most rural communities cannot boast of NETWORK.

Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has made it clear that he’s a strong supporter of Electronic voting and Electronic Transmission. He posited that most rural communities cannot boast of NETWORK, hence being victims of Civic duties disenfranchisement.

Orji Kalu made it clear that the Communication Commission has been exhorted to make it their serious responsibility of installing NETWORKS in all the rural areas of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, which in turn will create employment and fostering development just like in other developed nations.

It’s also to be noted that the Senate has asked the Communication Commission to immediately report back to the Senate soon.

”It is clear in every sense of Political modesty and inclusiveness that those areas without network must be allowed to exercise their Civic Rights,” he said.
