Peter Obi files petition before election tribunal to “reclaim” stolen mandate from Bola Tinubu

The Labor Party Presidential candidate Peter OBI has officially filed his petition to the presidential elections tribunal in Abuja.

Peter Obi of the Labour Party has filed a petition before the presidential election tribunal, challenging the victory of Bola Tinubu of All Progressives Congress.

The petition, according to Labour Party’s Presidential Campaign Council spokesperson, Yunusa Tanko, starts the struggle to reclaim Mr. Obi’s mandate from Mr. Tinubu.

“It is official the Labor Party Presidential candidate Peter OBI has filed his petition to the presidential elections tribunal in Abuja.

The process of reclaiming the people’s mandate has started, Mr.Tanko said in a tweet on Tuesday.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Mr. Tinubu the winner of the February 25th presidential election amidst protests by opposition parties over the failure of the commissioner to upload results from various polling units across the country on its server in real-time.

The presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar and Mr. Obi have both rejected the result of the election, vowing to challenge it in court.

Mr. Tinubu, however, dismissed calls for cancellation of the February 25th election based on INEC’s failure to upload results on their server.
