Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike on Thursday commended the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, over his performance while serving as governor of Anambra State.
Peter Obi and his running mate, Yusuf Baba-Ahmed are currently in Rivers State to commission the Ikoku flyover.
Governor Wike, while speaking at the event, slammed the incumbent governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Soludo over his recent verbal attacks on the Labour Party candidate.
It will be recalled that Soludo had on Monday set the internet on fire after releasing a lengthy article rubbishing the presidential ambition of Obi.
Wike, while speaking on the matter on Thursday urged Obi to ignore such attacks, stressing that Nigerians don’t like leaders who are upright.
He maintained that some of the attacks on Obi were due to envy, but asked those attacking the LP presidential candidate to face their duty.
He said: “You have worked very well in Anambra. But some people because of the level you are now, they are envying you, they can come out and say all manner of rubbish, don’t worry, that is how it is”.
