The Nigeria Police Force, Edo State Command, on Tuesday, said it’s operatives have arrested five suspected kidnappers and rescued three abducted victims.
In a statement on Tuesday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Bello Kongtons, said that the suspects were linked with a kidnapping case reported at the command on February 4.
According to him, the suspects are; Mohammed Ali, Abdullahi Umar, Bello Tambaya, Hassan Mohammad, Adamu Bello and Babuga.
He added that the suspects were arrested at their hideout in the Udo community Area of Iguabazua, Ovia South-West Local Government Area of the state on February 22.
He said the suspects will be arraigned in court as soon as the investigation is concluded, adding that the principal suspect is currently on the run.
According to him, the arrested suspects are already providing useful information that will lead to the arrest of other gang members at large.
He thanked the vigilantes through which the suspects were arrested, just as three others were rescued after a gun battle at Unomi Farm Land in Iddo Okpella, Etsako East Local Government Area of the state.
