Presidential Committee on Victims Support Fund receives report one year after

The presidential review panel set up to probe the operations of the Victims Support Fund since its inception has submitted its report.

The Presidential Committee Chairman on Victims Support Fund, T.Y Danjuma received the report on behalf of the committee

Recall that in July 2014, the Presidential Committee on Victims Support Fund (PCVSF), in the wake of the Boko Haram insurgency, set up a non-military response to the terror activities in the country.

Alkasim Abdulkadir, in a press statement on behalf of General T. Y. Danjuma, explained that the panel was tasked with the review in October 2020, saying that the task lasted one year.

The statement noted amongst the tasks of the review panel was the analysis of funds between 2014 and 2020 and the impact of operational activities of the organisation.

It further explained that the forensic audit of the VSF was carried out by renowned financial experts, stressing that the organisation used the opportunity to hold consultations with internal and external stakeholders of the VSF, including extensive research and field visits.

The statement said, “The report which was submitted in three volumes gave the detailed outcome of the review of the VSF and made extensive recommendations to the Chairman VSF.”

The statement explained that the forensic auditors had submitted and discussed the outcome of the audit with the Chairman but did not disclose the findings and recommendations of the panel.

General Y. Y. Danjuma hailed the panel for the time spent examining and auditing the past operations of the VSF.

The Chairman of the review panel, Brig-Gen Jones Arogbofa (rtd), on his part, thanked General Danjuma’s prudent leadership, saying it had made the Committee stand out amongst similar humanitarian organisations in the country.
