The Amalgamated Union of App-based Transporters of Nigeria has called on security operatives to intensify the protection of its members.
The union made this known on Thursday while protesting the killings of its members in some parts of the country.
The protest which took place in Port-Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, saw the e-hailing drivers suspend their operations while they displayed placards with inscriptions indicating their grievances.
The National President of the union, Adedamola Adeniran, who spoke to our correspondent said three Uber and Bolt drivers were killed in Port-Harcourt on Wednesday.
He also described the incident as a coordinated attack while identifying the victims as Emmanual Daniel, Roland Asuru, and John Okon.
The union spokesman, Jossy Adaraniwon, also disclosed that there was a report of brutal killing and car snatching on another driver in Abuja, Kelvin Oga, on Wednesday at the Galadimawa area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
