The Senator representing Abia Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Austin Akobundu has expressed shock at the attack on the motorcade of the Member representing Isiala Ngwa North/Isiala Ngwa South Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon. Ginger Onwusibe.

The attack which left a policeman attached to the lawmaker dead, happened on Sunday evening at the Ubakala area of Umuahia South LGA in Abia State. Fortunately, Onwusibe was not in the convoy when it came under gunfire.

Reacting to the incident, Senator Akobundu condemned the attack in its strongest terms and tasked security agencies to carry out a thorough investigation with a view to apprehending the perpetrators.

While condoling with Onwusibe over the attack and the loss of his security aide, Akobundu assured him of his solidarity and support, especially at this time.

The Senator prayed God to grant the soul of the slain policeman eternal rest and give the family he left behind and all those impacted by the loss, the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
