SEYLCF Hails Gov .Uzodinma on quick Intervention for Igbo at Alaba Int Lagos–Ms Odor
SEYLCF Commends the Proactive Actions of the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum and Imo state Governor, His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodinma who lead leaders from Southeast to meet with the Governor of Lagos state His Excellency Babajide.Sonowo over the Ongoing demolishing of Alaba International Market which attracted sympathy for Igbo traders.
The South East Young Leaders Consultative Forum, Secretary General Ms. Odor Augustina has commended the proactive action taken by Governor Hope Uzodinma to meet the Governor of Lagos State Babajide Sonowo and intervene for Igbo traders at Alaba International over the recent demolition of shops and properties in Lagos state.
The Secretary-General Ms. Odor Augustina said “We are delighted about his action and proactive measures that were taken by our Leader Governor Hope Uzodinma to stand up for the people at this critical moment.
We are satisfied that the outcome of the meeting with the Governor of Lagos State said was successful with a good resolution to reaffirm that Igbo can stay and do their legitimate business in Lagos State, Also issues around a common interest, and especially issues around the demolition of Alaba market.
We thank Governor Hope’s quick intervention to broker a peaceful resolution to enable them to carry out their businesses in peaceful coexistence under a relaxed atmosphere.
Governor Hope Uzodinma described the situation as unfortunate on misunderstanding among some Yoruba and Igbo as a result of political differences he thanked his Lagos state counterpart for assuring him that the situation has normalized peace between Igbos and the Lagos government for peaceful coexistence based on mutual respect for each side.
We shall continue to pray for leaders to succeed and for the growth of the South East region.
