Vice President Kashim Shettima is currently presiding over the 146 National Economic Council (NEC), which is being attended by state governors and representatives of relevant federal government agencies.

The NEC, which convenes every month, is expected to deliberate on various socioeconomic topics affecting Nigeria as a federation.

Members are expected to consider issues ranging from the states’ report on State Police, the 2025 fiscal year and any of the other of the issues currently on national front burner.

The meeting began at about 12:06 pm after Shettima arrived at the venue, the Council Chamber of the State House, Abuja.
