Sokoto re-run: INEC distributes sensitive materials – Kangiwa

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Sokoto has commence distribution of sensitive materials for Saturday re-run elections across 46 polling units in the state.

The administrative secretary Mrs Hauwa Aliyu Kangiwa said, the re-run elections will be conducted for Yabo/Shagari Federal Constituency and Bodinga , Tambuwal state Constituencies respectively.

Barrister Kangiwa disclosed this on Thursday while displaying the materials for inspection by relevant stakeholders.

She said ” we have concluded arrangements to dispatch the sensitive materials to respective local governments for onward transmission to the polling units for the exercise on Saturday.

Accordingly, Kangiwa disclosed that adequate security would be provided to ensure a hitch free exercise ” we have been given assurance by the security agencies to deploy enough personnel.

No fewer than 15 policemen are expected to oversee each polling unit”, She explained while assuring that all equipments for the elections were in good and functional conditions with provision for extra against failure.
