Students On The Run As Govt Suspends Free Feeding

Zamfara State government has suspended the feeding of boarding students in the government schools due to paucity of funds.

This development led to the failure of the State government to settle the outstanding debt of the State’s feeding agency.

Report has it that many students have abandoned their studies as a result of this ugly situation.

A Principal of a Government Day Secondary School, who didn’t want his name published, said that the majority of the students were no longer attending schools, describing the action as a serious setback to the educational development of the State.

It is unfortunate that the majority of our children are not attending schools again because of the suspension of the feeding programme in schools,” he added.
