Super Eagles players’ new shirt number revealed ahead of Egypt

The Confederation of African Football, CAF, on Wednesday revealed the shirt numbers the Super Eagles players will be wearing at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, in Cameroon.

Goalkeeper Maduka Okoye will wear the number one jersey, while Francis Uzoho will adorn 23, Daniel Akpeyi has 16 jersey, and John Noble will wear 27.

Semi Ajayi and Frank Onyeka will wear number 6 and 8 jerseys, respectively, due to the absence of injured duo Leon Balogun and Oghenekaro Etebo.

Midfielder Kelechi Nwakali will put on number 25, while Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo retains his number 10.

Odion Ighalo will wear number 9, while Chidera Ejuke will put on number 13.

Taiwo Awoniyi and Umar Sadiq will wear numbers 19 and 24, respectively.

Nigeria will kick-start their 2021 AFCON against Egypt on November 11.

Nigeria are in Group D alongside Egypt, Sudan and Guinea Bissau.
