An oil tanker Explosion that rocked Niger State on Saturday has left many dead and several others injured.
Our correspondents at the scene of the explosion reported that the incident which occurred at Dikko junction around the Abuja-Kaduna expressway, left many burnt to death beyond recognition.
The Premium Motor Spirit (PMS)-ladened tanker was said to have exploded when some residents of the area went to scoop its content after an accident.
Scores were said to have been burnt to death, while several others sustained various degrees of burnt.
Channels Television could not share the other gory videos and photos from the explosion, however, reports say persons burnt were as many as 100.
The Niger State Governor, Umaru Bago has expressed shock over the incident.
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Bologi Ibrahim, said the governor described the explosion as worrisome, heartbreaking and unfortunate.
He sympathies with the families of the victims of the explosion and prayed that Allah would repose the souls of the departed and heal the injured.
The governor, however, cautioned the people to always be responsible and give priority to their safety.
He directed all the relevant Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to do what was necessary, while urging the security agents to ensure security in the area.
