Court struck out FG’s 8 Count Charges against Nnamdi Kanu order 500m Naira Compensation

The Federal High Court, sitting in Umuahia on Wednesday, October 26th rejected the Federal government’s application and Struck out all the 8 Count Charges file against Mazi Nnamdi
Kanu leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB by the Federal Government.

Kanu is praying for the court to order his return to Kenya where he was abducted or to the UK, his country of abode.

The presiding Judge, Justice Evelyn Anyadike, in her ruling, denied the federal government’s application to transfer the ‘extraordinary rendition’ suit to Abuja, and ruled that “Umuahia has the jurisdiction to hear and determine the suit”.

The judge also denied the federal government’s second preliminary objection to its jurisdiction based on Res Judicata.

The Court rules that the Abia State High Court judgment of Jan 19, 2022, was specific to the 2017 military invasion, not the 2021 extraordinary rendition,” Aloy Ejimakor.

All the 8 count Charges by the federal government were struck out.

The court Ordered The Federal Government To pay Mazi Nnamdi Kanu a total sum of 500 million in Compensation for infringing on his fundamental Human Rights.
