Since the ASUU strike started, the students left their lecture halls and abandon their studies in public institutions. most of the students became ready tools for criminal activities such as kidnapping, robbery, human trafficking, killings, etc.
The students have now become heavy burdens to their various families, economically and socially.

The males have become political thugs, also sophisticated internet fraud has taken the order of the day with various kinds of rituals and untimely deaths. While their female counterparts have taken up prostitution as a ready means of survival to the detriment of their future career. Some of the girls have been forced to get into unplanned marriages while some die on the abortion table.

On the lecturers, it has adversely affected their economy as a result of the “NO WORK NO PAY” policy of the federal government of Nigeria. Since they are out of the classroom, some find it difficult to meet up with their family demands.

Some of them who are living in rented apartments can no longer pay for their house rents and personal maintenance.
In the country, the image of the country has been dragged into the mud for the inability of the leaders to handle the situation with all amount of sincerity and seriousness.

This has exposed the federal government of Nigeria as incapable of running an educational system for their teaming population which has adverse effects on the economic development of the nation.

Miss Mercy Nwankwo appealed to the federal government and ASUU to as a matter of urgency come back to the negotiating table to reach or arrive at an amicable solution toward ending the problem bedeviling the country.

Miss Mercy Nwankwo urge the youths to go and get their PVC to enable them to participate in the coming general election to vote for candidates who they’re capable of running the e country properly.
